Types of Sentences
In English, sentences are classified based on their purpose. There are four types of sentences:
1. Declarative Sentence
A declarative sentence makes a statement or provides information. It ends with a period (.)
- Example: The dog is playing outside.
2. Interrogative Sentence
An interrogative sentence asks a question and ends with a question mark (?).
- Example: Is the dog playing outside?
3. Exclamatory Sentence
An exclamatory sentence expresses strong feeling or excitement. It ends with an exclamation mark (!).
- Example: The dog is so cute!
Remember, declarative sentences make statements, interrogative sentences ask questions, and exclamatory sentences show strong feelings!
