In a small town, there was a bakery known for its delicious cookies. The bakery was run by Mrs. Baker, who baked the best chocolate chip cookies anyone had ever tasted. One sunny afternoon, Mrs. Baker prepared a big batch of cookies for the town's annual fair.

As the cookies cooled on the window sill, Mrs. Baker stepped out to take a break. But when she returned, she was shocked to find that her cookies were missing! She looked around and saw cookie crumbs leading away from the bakery.

Determined to solve the mystery, Mrs. Baker put on her detective hat and decided to follow the trail of crumbs. She first went to the park, where she saw her friend Tommy, who loved cookies more than anything. "Tommy, have you seen my cookies?" she asked.

Tommy shook his head. "No, but I saw Lucy running towards the playground with a big bag. She looked very happy!" Mrs. Baker thanked Tommy and hurried to the playground.

At the playground, she found Lucy playing on the swings, giggling with her friends. "Lucy, did you take my cookies?" Mrs. Baker asked, trying to keep a straight face. Lucy looked surprised. "Me? No way! But I did see Max near the bakery before!"

Mrs. Baker decided to check on Max, who was known for his love of sweets. She found him at the ice cream truck, happily enjoying a cone. "Max, did you happen to take my cookies?" she inquired.

Max grinned, "Not me! But I saw Emma with a big box. She was heading towards the fountain!"

Mrs. Baker followed the lead to the fountain, where she spotted Emma. "Emma, do you have my cookies?" she asked. Emma laughed, "I wish! But I saw Oliver running off with something delicious!"

Finally, Mrs. Baker found Oliver near the old oak tree, looking guilty with cookie crumbs on his shirt. "Oliver! Did you take my cookies?" she demanded.

With a big smile, Oliver admitted, "I couldn't resist! They smelled so good, so I took a few!" Mrs. Baker couldn’t help but laugh. "Well, you’d better share them with your friends!"

Oliver agreed, and they all returned to the bakery for a cookie party. Mrs. Baker baked a new batch, and everyone enjoyed the delicious cookies together. The Great Cookie Caper ended with laughter, friendship, and of course, lots of cookies!
