Recognize and Generate Patterns Involving Multiplication and Division
In this lesson, we will learn how to recognize and generate patterns involving **multiplication** and **division**. Patterns help us understand numbers and how they relate to each other.
Multiplication Patterns
When we multiply numbers, we often notice repeating patterns. For example, multiplying by 2 gives us even numbers (2, 4, 6, 8, 10...). Multiplying by 5 gives us numbers that end in either 0 or 5 (5, 10, 15, 20...).
Example:
Multiplying by 3 gives the pattern: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15...
Division Patterns
Division also creates patterns, especially when dividing by numbers like 2, 5, or 10. For instance, dividing by 2 gives us all even numbers.
Example:
Dividing 30 by 5 gives us: 30 ÷ 5 = 6, 60 ÷ 5 = 12, 90 ÷ 5 = 18...
Now, let’s test your understanding of multiplication and division patterns!
